Explorer Flight Missions - South Asia Monsoon Run

The monsoon does not care about your schedule.

Every airline pilot knows there are days when the schedule bends to the weather, and then there are days when the weather takes complete control. Welcome to Monsoon Run, the latest mission in the TPC Explorer Series, where you’ll fly five demanding routes across South Asia during the height of the annual monsoon season. What begins as a routine regional schedule quickly evolves into a test of judgment, discipline, and adaptability as towering thunderstorms, flooded airports, and rapidly changing conditions challenge every decision you make. This isn’t a campaign built around scripted emergencies or Hollywood drama. It’s about experiencing aviation at its most authentic, where every safe landing is earned through careful planning, sound cockpit management, and respect for the power of nature.

You’ve been assigned to support the region’s growing transportation needs during one of the busiest and most unpredictable times of the year. Your passengers include vacationers, business travelers, relief workers, medical teams, and families trying to reach loved ones before conditions deteriorate. With each completed leg, the monsoon strengthens, airports become more congested, delays multiply, and operational pressure steadily mounts. By the final flight, you’ll be racing a narrowing weather window with an aircraft full of emergency responders and stranded families, knowing that once the storm arrives, there may not be another departure for hours, or even days.

Throughout the campaign, you’ll face wet runways, convective weather, challenging approaches, fuel planning decisions, and the constant question every airline crew asks during monsoon season: Can we safely complete this flight? Success isn’t measured by arriving exactly on schedule. It’s measured by making sound decisions, managing risk, and bringing everyone safely to their destination.

You can fly these missions on your own or get a group going - it’s up to you. Make sure you choose an appropriate aircraft and conduct proper flight planning.
