The Ring of Fire - TPC Charters Airline Event - Summer 2025
It’s summer, and the heat is on! Southeast Asia is calling to both GA and airliner pilots alike. Known for its numerous volcanoes, the Pacific “Ring of Fire” has plenty of volcanic mountains to appeal to your sightseeing impulses.
TPC Charters Summer event will be based out of the country of Japan. The General Aviation (GA) aircraft will travel from top to bottom (or bottom to top) seeking out the best volcanic views along their voyage. The airliners and business jets will be hopping back and forth between Japan and other Ring of Fire countries.
GA Pilots will have the choice to start their voyage in either our southern (RJFC) or northern most (RJCN) airports in Japan. Airliners and bizjets will all be starting in Tokyo (RJCW). GA pilots are advised to check the runway lengths listed below before choosing an aircraft.
Note: Airliners will be required to fly into or out of Japan every 4th flight:
(e.g. J - NJ - NJ -NJ - J - NJ - NJ - NJ - J - NJ - NJ - NJ).
Airliner/Bizjet Pilots need to pay close attention to the distances necessary to make it between the different airports within the required number of hops! This will have a big impact on your aircraft selection! There is no fuel in the middle of the ocean.
GA Pilots will receive 400 TPC Points for each airport visited. Your first flight will earn you 800 TPC Points as you will be departing from one event airport and landing at another. Airliners will receive 500 TPC points for each visited airport. You will earn 1000 TPC points for your first flight, since you will fly from one event airport to another. An additional 500 TPC Points will be awarded for completing all GA event airports or all event Airliner airports. Pilots are eligible to receive both awards.
Event aircraft will not be ferried during this event. Pilots will be allowed additional aircraft specifically for the event. Once the event has started, any aircraft associated to the event will not be ferried. Your normally assigned aircraft that is not associated with the event will still be able to be ferried, but flights in aircraft not associated with the event will not count for TPC Points. Also, aircraft associated with the event will not be changed during the event, so plan accordingly.
