Have you made a VATSIM account, but feel intimidated every time you try to speak on the frequency? Or have you yet to make an account in fear that you haven't got what it takes yet? Then this is the program for you!
At busy airports, or events, it can be a little tricky to learn and get used to the pace. To help overcome that VATSIM created the First Wings events, dedicated to helping pilots get used to the phraseology, the procedures, and what is expected of them.
VATSIM First Wings: Caribbean VFR Island Hopping
What better place to take everything at a more leisurely pace than the Caribbean! This VFR event will be held within the Juliana TMA airspace. Pilots can attempt the super exciting and challenging approaches into St. Barths (TFFJ) and Saba (TNCS), or try to hit the infamous Maho Beach on approach into Princess Juliana (TNCM). In total there are 6 airports available to practice your skills at!
While the two larger airport receive regular Air Traffic Control (ATC), the smaller airports are only receive Aerodrome Flight Information Services (AFIS). Documentation on all local operations, mandatory reporting points and the differences between ATC and AFIS operations is available at the links below. Please familiarise yourself with them.

TQPF - Anguilla
Airports recieving Aerodrome Flight Information Services (AFIS):
TFFJ - St. Barths

TNCE - St. Eustatius
To assist controllers in planning, we ask you to please book a flight. The slots do not have a departure or arrival airport associated with them, nor is there any predetermined departure time. You may fly between any of the 6 listed airports at any point.
