This month we are exploring Oceania.

You can fly these flights on your own or get a group going - it’s up to you. Make sure you choose an appropriate aircraft and conduct proper flight planning. Let the adventure begin!

To get the Explorer server role (access to Explorers DISCORD channel) and 500 TPC Points for each flight:

  1. Fly to or from any of the airports on this list.

  2. Leave a comment on this post with the ICAO code of the airport you flew into. Feel free to share more details about your flight, if you’d like.

  3. Post a pic from your flight in screenshots channel on DISCORD.

1. NZWD - McMurdo Station, USA, Ross Island.

Williams Field or Willy Field is a United States Antarctic Program airfield in Antarctica. Williams Field consists of two snow runways located on approximately 25 ft of compacted snow, lying on top of 8–10 ft of ice, floating over 550 meters of water. The airport, which is approximately seven miles from Ross Island, serves McMurdo Station and New Zealand's Scott Base.

2. SCIP - Easter Island’s Mataveri International Airport.

Mataveri International Airport or Isla de Pascua Airport is at Hanga Roa on Rapa Nui. The most remote airport in the world, it is 2,336 miles from Santiago, Chile. The runway starts just inland from the island's southeast coast at Mataveri, and nearly reaches the west coast, almost separating the mountain of Rano Kau from the rest of the island.

3. PHKO - Hawaii’s Kona International Airport.

Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keāhole is the busiest airport on the Island of Hawaiʻi. It is located in Kalaoa CDP, Hawaiʻi County, Hawaiʻi, United States, near the town of Kailua-Kona. The airport serves leeward (western) Hawaiʻi island, including the resorts of the North Kona and South Kohala districts. It is one of two international airports serving Hawaiʻi island, the other being Hilo International Airport on the windward side.

4. AGGN - Nusatupe Airport on the Solomon Islands.

Nusatupe Airport is an airport near Gizo, Solomon Islands and is a regular Solomon Airlines destination. It was created in World War II to support USAAF operations by flattening two islands and joining them together using the spoil. It was subsequently redeveloped in 2011 under a New Zealand aid programme, removing an abrupt level change midway to provide a level strip.

5. WAHQ - Adisumarmo International Airport in Java, Indonesia.

Adisumarmo International Airport is an airport in Boyolali Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. It is located 14 km north of Surakarta city. It is the main airport of Boyolali and Surakarta and the surrounding area, also known as Greater Solo. The airport also serves as an alternative airport to Adisutjipto International Airport in Yogyakarta during a disaster, such as during the 2006 Yogyakarta earthquake and the 2010 Mount Merapi eruption.
